My future job

Architecture is a career that has many areas and a lot of job opportunities, I like my university career, I feel that it goes well with my personality, I have always liked handicrafts and making drawings, that's why I chose to study this. On the other hand, so far I have been interested in the area of landscaping and I would like to mix it with the architectural design of buildings and cities.

I would like to be one of the future architects who create architectural works that help the environment and the city. I imagine myself working in a place that is a naturally lit building on the inside, I like to look outside while I work, so I imagine an office with a big window that faces outside.

If I am honest I still don't know if I would like to travel for work, I think it depends on where I have to go, if it was the USA I wouldn't like to go, I really feel that it is not a country I would like to visit. However, if it were a city in the south of Chile, I would love to travel, I would also like to go to a European country and if it were a country in America, I would like to go to Canada. All of these are places that I would love to visit or travel to for work.

Regarding the salary, I haven't seen yet how much an architect earns, nor I haven't estimated how much an average architect could earn and that's why I don't know how much money I want to earn.

A difficult choice

To be honest, since I was 7 years old, my dream was to study medicine and then specialise in plastic surgery. However, as I got older I became disillusioned with biology and gradually realised that medicine was not what I really wanted. When I was 17 I thought about this career and came to the conclusion that it was not for me, because for as long as I can remember I have been quite prone to catching colds, I was always in clinics thanks to my constant colds, so if I studied medicine I would really catch colds and I didn't want that for myself.

Then with my family we started to look at all the existing careers in Chile and I was between two university careers, one was to study Astronomy and the other Architecture, my family told me "but Isidora, they are not even in a similar area" I just answered that it was what I liked and I had to decide between those two. 

Finally I decided Architecture and I am happy with my choice.

Harry Potter

Ever since I was a baby I have watched the Harry Potter films, as my mum was a big fan of the films. I remember when I was little I had imaginary friends and they were none other than the main characters in the films, it's quite funny now that I think about it when I grow up. 

One of the reasons why Harry potter is one of my favourite movie sagas is because they make you feel like you are in the fantasy world they are in, like you can actually stand up and say "accio" and the things you want will come to your hand or "wingardium keviosa" and things will magically rise up. This whole saga brings me a lot of nostalgia, because it reminds me of my childhood, when we spent hours with my mum watching the whole movies.

In my opinion the best films of the saga are number 1 "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" and number 3 "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Askaban".

Number 1 is good because it gives an introduction to the whole world of magic and it is seen in such an innocent way, since the person who will be the main character and hero of the films is just being introduced, and the antagonist, the villain of the films, is also introduced.

 

Number 3 is great, because in this film there is no main villain, but rather the film is about how Harry discovers that "the prisoner of Askaban, Sirius Balck" is not who everyone thinks he is, and he finds out because this character escapes from his prison and goes to look for the main character Harry Potter. It is the only film in the saga that does not feature Voldemort as a villain and that makes it special.

All this does not detract from the fact that the films in general of the saga are wonderful and the best films created in our time.

“THE WINGS TOUR”

In 2017 I went with my friends to the concert of the South Korean artists BTS, for those who don't know them, they are a group made up of seven members, who are currently between 25 and 29 years old. The event was held at the movistar arena and I remember that day we arrived at around 6 in the morning with my friends to queue for the concert, we were waiting all day to see them. Finally at the moment of entering it was chaos, the line was dismantled and all the people who were in the place ran to be able to be in good seats, it was an adrenalinic moment.

I remember well that the first song they played in the concert was "not today", which is a song that belongs to the next album, my happiness at the moment was at its maximum, I screamed, cried and sang like I had never done before. They finished the concert and only memories of the moment remained. The atmosphere was so amazing, we fans felt connected with our favourite artists, to be honest, every time I remember that concert I feel happy, because I could see my favourite k-pop group and I would do it again if they come again.

It is a curious fact that fair today is the happy birthday for the youngest member of the group and his name is Jungkook.
